What is happening?

ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

(Banks Lane, Theydon Garnon) - (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Banks Lane, Theydon Garnon in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Mount Road for a distance of approximately 55m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (MK06210316868 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter exchange works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via: Mount Road, Mount End Road, Banks Lane and vice versa (with access only into Banks Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Brooklane Field, Harlow) - (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brooklane Field, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from a point approximately 35m southwest of its junction with Southern Way for a distance of approximately 510m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WH2WV2RL2CSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.

Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Epping Road, Roydon in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Low Hill Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 3 days or where stated on a valid permit (MK06310343756 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while smart meter replacement works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via: High Street, B181, A414, A1169, Third Avenue, A1169, B1133 and vice versa (access only into Epping Road).

Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Matching Green, Matching, in the District of Epping Forest from a point approximately 190m northwest of its junction with Watery Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (EC30072429656 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via: Watery Lane, Matching Tye Road and vice versa (with access only into Matching Road & Matching Green).

The Order will come into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Toot Hill Road, Stanford Rivers) - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Toot Hill Road, Stanford Rivers in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Colemans Lane for a distance of approximately 345m in a north easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2026 for 5 days or where stated on a valid permit (EC30061263587 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

An alternative route is available via: Toot Hill Road, Greensted Road, Drapers Corner, Mutton Row and vice versa (with access only into Toot Hill Road).

The Order will come into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Epping Road, Roydon) - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Epping Road, Roydon in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Hansells Mead to its junction with Kingsmead Close a distance of approximately 230m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th September 2026 for 1 day or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGTVOH2DPTSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via: Epping Road, B181, B1133, A1169, Roydon Road, Harlow Road, Epping Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 3rd September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District Of Epping Forest) - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic & Temporary Introduction Of A Clearway) Order (No.11) 2026
Notice is hereby given that the ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the length of road in the District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule.

2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 3rd September 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.

Access will be maintained for emergency services.

Diversion route will be signed at each location, and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
