What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PRESTON HALF MARATHON AND 10K EVENT, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY REVERSAL) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) (TEMPORARY BUS GATE SUSPENSION) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit and restrict traffic on the roads set out in this order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway laid out in the road closures schedule of this order.
2. To temporarily reverse one-way traffic as laid out in the temporary reversal of one-way schedule to this order.
3. To temporarily suspend one-way traffic as laid out in the temporary suspension of one-way schedule to this order.
4. To temporarily suspend the bus gate as laid out in the temporary suspension of bus gate schedule to this order.
5. To temporarily restrict waiting, loading and unloading on the following lengths of highway laid out in the no waiting, loading and unloading schedule to this order.
6. The prohibitions will be operative on the dates specified in the dates of operation column of the schedules to this order.
Any individual prohibitions or restrictions may be removed before their stated end date or time if deemed safe and appropriate by the event holder. The whole order may also be removed before its end date if deemed safe and appropriate by the event holder.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the safe holding of the Preston Half Marathon and 10K event.
