I GIVE NOTICE THAT the following application is being made to the Council of the Borough of North Tyneside:

6 Pykerley Road Whitley Bay – APPLICATION NO: 26/01231/FULH Mr Edward Hill is applying for planning permission for Dormer to rear, installation of new doors and windows at ground floor to rear and new garage to rear. It is considered that the development proposed may affect the character or appearance of a Conservation Area. 

60 Beverley Terrace Cullercoats – APPLICATION NO: 26/01188/FUL Mr Michael O’Neil is applying for planning permission for Change of use from three self contained flats into a single dwelling house, two storey and single storey rear extensions and a detached storage garage within rear yard. It is considered that the development proposed may affect the character or appearance of a Conservation Area.

Unit 4 Palace Building Grand Parade – APPLICATION NO: 26/01210/ADV Brack Burger Ltd is applying for planning permission for Illuminated projecting advertisement signage to West Facade of Unit 4 and North Facade of Unit 4. It is considered that the development proposed may affect the character or appearance of a Conservation Area.

Northumberland Park Lodge King Edward Road – APPLICATION NO: 26/01090/FUL Mr James Rose is applying for planning permission for Alterations to dwellinghouse including the formation of new window openings and installation of sliding glazed door to the rear elevation, application of external timber cladding, formation of a vehicular access including dropped kerb and access ramp, and construction of a driveway within the front garden. It is considered that the development proposed may affect the character or appearance of a Conservation Area. The property is a listed building.

Office 1 11 New Quay North Shields – APPLICATION NO: 26/01243/LBC Blake Hopkinson Architecture And Design Limited is applying for planning permission for Provide solar reflective window film to the ground floor windows on the south west and north west facing elevations to office 1 to reduce solar heat gain during the summer months. It is considered that the development proposed may affect the character or appearance of a Conservation Area.

I GIVE NOTICE THAT the following application is being made to the Council of the Borough of North
Tyneside: Tyneview Park Whitley Road Benton – APPLICATION NO: 26/01153/FULM

Taylor Wimpey North East is applying for planning permission for Residential development of 214 dwellings (use class C3) with access, landscaping and associated works. 

The application is being advertised as it involves major development & it does not accord with the provisions of the development plan in force in the area to which the land to which the application relates is situated. The submitted plans and associated documents are available to view on the Council’s Planning website at www.northtyneside.gov.uk.   

If you wish to make representations about the application you should do so in writing within 21 days (excluding bank holidays) of the publication of this notice to the Planning Service at the address shown at the end of this notice.

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (GENERAL PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT) ORDER 2015 (AS AMENDED, RE-ENACTED OR REVOKED) (THE ORDER) DIRECTION MADE UNDER ARTICLE 4(1)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Tyneside Council has made a Direction under Article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (as amended, re-enacted or revoked).

The Direction relates to development consisting of a change of use of a building from a use falling within Class C3 (dwellinghouses) of the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 to a use falling within Class C4 (houses in multiple occupation) of that Schedule being development comprised within Class L(b) of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 and not being development comprised within any other Class.

The effect of the Direction is that planning permission will be required for such changes of use within the area covered by the Direction.

The Direction was made on 6 August 2026 and, subject to confirmation by the Council, will come into force on 6 August 2027. 

The area to which the Direction relates is shown on a map accompanying the Direction and comprises: Wallsend Central, Howdon, Chirton and Percy Main, North Shields, Whitley Bay North, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay South, Forest Hall, Longbenton and Benton.

A copy of the Direction and a map defining the area to which it relates may be seen on “Our North Tyneside Voice” on the Council’s web site at www.northtyneside.gov.uk or at our Quadrant Offices at The Silverlink North, Cobalt Business Park, North Tyneside, NE27 0BY during normal working hours.

Any representations concerning the Direction must be made in writing and received no later than 22 October 2026.
