TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS
Notice is hereby given that on the 26th August 2026 Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council made the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which will come into operation on the 11th September 2026.
(BUGGEN LANE AND MILL STREET, NESTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Buggen Lane – both sides – from its junction with Leighton Road for a distance of 31 metres in a south-westerly direction.
• Mill Street – both sides – from its junction with Buggen Lane for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction.
(OLD CHESTER ROAD (GREEN LANE), GREAT SUTTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Old Chester Road, Great Sutton – east side – from a point 10 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Green Lane to a point 10 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Green Lane.
(OLD CHESTER ROAD AND MILL LANE, GREAT SUTTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Old Chester Road, Great Sutton – east side – from a point 44 metres south of the centreline of Old Chester Road’s junction with Whetstone Hey to a point 10 metres south of the centreline of Old Chester Road’s junction with Mill Lane, a total length of 135 metres.
• Mill Lane, Great Sutton – both sides – from the give way line of its junction with Old Chester Road for a distance of 40 metres in a south-easterly direction.
(OLD CHESTER ROAD AND OLIVER LANE, GREAT SUTTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Old Chester Road, Great Sutton – east side – from a point 10 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Oliver Lane to a point 10 metres north of its centreline with Oliver Lane.
• Oliver Lane, Great Sutton – both sides – from the give way line of its junction with Old Chester Road for a distance of 7 metres in an easterly direction.
(OLD CHESTER ROAD & WHETSTONE HEY, GREAT SUTTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Old Chester Road – north side – from its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 94 metres in a southeasterly direction.
• Old Chester Road – south side – From its junction with Chester Road for a distance of 115 metres in a southeasterly direction.
• Whetstone Hey – both sides – from its junction with Old Chester Road for a distance of 35 metres in a northeasterly direction.
• Whetstone Hey North Service Road – south side – its entire length.
• Whetstone Hey South Service Road – west side – its entire length.
(EATON ROAD AND BERKLEY DRIVE, HANDBRIDGE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Eaton Road, Handbridge – both sides – from a point 20 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Berkley Drive to a point 20 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Berkley Drive.
• Berkley Drive, Handbridge – both sides – from the give way line of its junction with Eaton Road for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction.
(NEWTON LANE, CHESTER) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit waiting on the following lengths of road:
• Newton Lane – West Side – From a point 12 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Shavington Avenue to a point 10 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Shavington Avenue.
Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks from the 26th of August 2026 make application to the High Court for this purpose.
TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
Notice is hereby given that on 8 September 2026 Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council made the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will come into force on 11 September 2026.
THE CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL
(A483 WREXHAM ROAD, CHESTER)
(30 MPH AND 50 MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026
The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 30 MPH speed limit on A483 Wrexham Road, Chester, from a point 400 metres south of Overleigh Roundabout to its northerly junction with Herons Way, an approximate distance of 1265 metres.
The Order will also consolidate existing speed limits.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or to any provisions contained in it, on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instruments made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 8 September 2026 apply to the High Court for that purpose.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08858 – Old Hall Street in Malpas
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Malpas to enable gas works to be carried out by Cadent Gas.
OLD HALL STREET – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 14/09/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: B5395 Old Hall Street, A41 Whitchurch Road, B5069 Chester Road.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08859 – Cow Lane in Foulk Stapleford in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Foulk Stapleford to enable utility works to be carried out by United Utilities Water.
COW LANE – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 16/09/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 16 days to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Cow Lane, Martins Lane, Guy Lane, Eggbridge Lane, Common Lane, Village Road, Long Lane, Chapel Lane.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08867 – Alnwick Drive in Ellesmere Port
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Ellesmere Port to enable Gas works to be carried out by Cadent Gas.
ALNWICK DRIVE – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 21/09/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Thornton Road, Rochester Drive, vice versa.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
TR08876 – Nuns Road in Chester
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit/restrict traffic on the following length of road in Chester to enable Footpath repairs works to be carried out by Gladiator Access.
NUNS ROAD – Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use the alternative routes.
The Order will come into force on 20/09/2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
Alternative routes for through traffic – Traffic should proceed via: Watergate Street, Nicholas Street, Grosvenor Roundabout, Overleigh Roundabout, Grosvenor Road.
