Kirklees: Cross Bank Road, Batley - Carlinghow Lane to Melton Street - Proposal of Traffic Calming Features

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Kirklees Council propose to introduce the following Traffic Calming features, in the form of:

One Kerb to Kerb Road Plateaux (in the form of a humped Zebra) on Carlinghow Lane and four sets of Speed Cushions along Cross Bank Road, Batley in Huddersfield. The Kerb-to-Kerb Road Plateau will be located at an existing Zebra Crossing and have a 6m long “flat top” and 1.5m long approach ramps, with a maximum height and gradient of 75mm and 1 in 20 respectively.

Each Speed Cushion will be 3,5m long x 1.6m wide, “flattop” with a maximum height of 75mm, and approach and side ramp gradients of 1 in 8 and 1 in 4 respectively.

Feature HZ1– One Kerb to Kerb Road Plateaux, to be centred on the existing Zebra Crossing facility, located outside No.2 Carlinghow Lane.

Feature SC1– One pair of Speed Cushions, on Cross Bank Road. The centre point of the cushions to be located 35 metres north-westwards of the projected centre line of Coal Pit Mews measured along the centre line of Cross Bank Road.

Feature SC2– One pair of Speed Cushions, on Cross Bank Road. The centre point of the cushions to be located 29 metres east of the projected centre line of Coal Pit Mews measured along the centre line of Cross Bank Road.

Feature SC3– One pair of Speed Cushions, on Cross Bank Road. The centre point of the cushions to be located 119 metres south-eastwards of the projected centre line of Centenary Way measured along the centre line of Cross Bank Road.

Feature SC4– One pair of Speed Cushions, on Cross Bank Road. The centre point of the cushions to be located 179 metres south-eastwards of the projected centre line of Centenary Way measured along the centre line of Cross Bank Road.
