HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1038 (UNNAMED ROAD), BUNTINGFORD) ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1038 (unnamed road), Buntingford from a point 25m northeast of its junction with Horseshoe Hill south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: B1038 (unnamed road), B1368 (unnamed road/Biggin Hill/London Road/High Street/Cambridge Road/London Road/High Street), B1039 (Picknage Road/Chishill Road/Barley Road/Hall Lane/unnamed road/Royston Road/Station Road), B1383 (Muttlow Hill/London Road/Cambridge Road/Belmont Hill) and B1038 (Wicken Road/Clatterbury Lane/High Street/Pelham Road/unnamed road/Pump Hill/Conduit Lane/unnamed road).

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 30 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Union Terrace And The Footpath Situated On The West Side Of Nos. 9-17 Riverside, Buntingford) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following length of road ("the Road"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road, whilst works are in progress:-
a) that length of Union Terrace, Buntingford from its junction with B1038 Hare Street north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 77m.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

Additionally, all pedestrians are prohibited from using the footpath situated on the west side of Nos. 9-17 Riverside, Buntingford from its junction with Union Terrace north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Pigs Nose, a distance of approximately 247m ("the Footpath").
An alternative route will be via: the footway situated on the north side of B1038 Hare Street, the footway situated on the west side of Sunny Hill, the footway situated on the north side of Archers, the footway situated on the west side of Paddock Road, the footway situated on the south side of The Causeway, the footway situated on the east side of Rivers Green and the footway situated on the east side of Pigs Nose.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpath.

The Order will come into effect on 1 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footpath.
