What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U5527 AND B5343 CHAPEL STILE AND U5527 AND U5003 LITTLE LANGDALE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the:
(i) B5343 Chapel Stile, from its junction with the U5527, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 4km
(ii) U5527 Little Langdale, from its junction with the B5343, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 3.5km.
Alternative Route: via the C5004 and the unrestricted section of the U5527.
Duration: From 29th September 2026 for approx. 10 days/weeks (Ref: TTROW/19163)
(iii) U5527 Little Langdale, from its junction with the A593, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 4km.
(iv) U5003 Little Langdale from its junction with the U5527, extending in a south westerly direction for its entire length.
Alternative Route: via the A593, B5343 and the C5004.
Duration: From 13th October 2026 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/19146)

The Order will come into operation on 29th September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
