What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C225 (Part), Limpley Stoke; from its junction with Old Track to its private drive entrance to Field Cottage to enable Openreach to carry out cabling and associated works. 

Alternative route via C225 (unaffected length) – B3110 – Branch Road – A36 – C225 (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

This Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 5 days.

B) Tutton Hill, Box and Colerne; from its junction with C184 to its junction with Market Place to enable Openreach to carry out cable recovery works and other associated works. Alternative route via Market Place – C184 and vice versa. 

This Order will come into operation on 14 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 for 3 nights. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023. 

C) Church Lane (Part), Limpley Stoke; from its junction with Middle Stoke for a distance of approximately 200m in a south easterly direction to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out reinstatement and associated works. Alternative route via Church Lane (unaffected length) – A36 – Lower Stoke – Church Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. 

This Order will come into operation on 15 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Core Highways on behalf of Wales & West Utilities on 0330 043 3030. Orders A) to C) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. 

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 21 (Part), Box; from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 100m in an easterly direction to enable Compound and access to Box tunnel to carry out maintenance and refurbishment works to existing rail bridge. 

Alternative route via signed route and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. 

This Order will come into operation on 05 October 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 04 April 2027. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
