Medway, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

(HOSPITAL LANE, ROCHESTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply repairs to be carried out

Hospital Lane, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic at its junction with High Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via High Street, Gundulph Road and St Bartholomews Lane in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works are expected to commence on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 and are programmed for completion within 4 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

(STOKE ROAD, ROCHESTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overhead line works to be carried out -

Stoke Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of the ARQIVA site. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Ropers Lane, A228 and Bells Lane in both directions. This Order will come into force on Thursday, 17 September 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on Thursday, 17 September 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 day.

The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed. (COOLING STREET, CLIFFE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable tree cutting to keep branches away from power lines -

Cooling Street, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from a point outside Park Lane Cottage for approximately 215 metres in a northerly direction. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Perry Hill. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

This Order will come into force on Friday, 18 September 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The works are due to commence on Friday, 18 September 2026 and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overhead cable works to be carried out -

Bells Lane, Hoo - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of No. 40. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via A228, Main Road Hoo and Main Road in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Sunday, 13 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 1 day. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

(CONSTITUTION ROAD, CHATHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable new electricity ducting and cabling to be installed -

Constitution Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 66 Constitution Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via York Hill and Luton Road in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 15 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 5 days.

The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

Portland Street, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 3 Portland Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Magpie Hall Road, Listmas Road and Waghorn Street in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable new gas mains and services to be installed -

Kingswood Road, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of No. 2a Kingswood Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes will be available via (a) Kingswood Road, Jeffery Street, Victoria Street and Railway Street; and (b) Kingswood Road, Railway Street, King Street and Jeffery Street.

This Order will come into force on Monday, 28 September 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within 8 days. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

(GAS HOUSE ROAD, ROCHESTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a railway bridge examination to be carried out

Gas House Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic for a distance of 20 metres on each side of railway bridge VIR/149. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route is available. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

This Order will come into force on Thursday, 8 October 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence at 10pm on Thursday, 8 October 2026 and are programmed for completion by 5am on Friday, 9 October 2026. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CHURCH STREET, CLIFFE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable telephone pole maintenance to be carried out

Church Street, Cliffe - to be closed to all vehicular traffic for approximately 40 metres on either side of the frontage of Nos. 128 and 128A Church Street. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Higham Road, West Street and Buttway Lane in both directions.

This Order will come into force on Saturday, 10 October 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are expected to commence on or after that date and are programmed for completion within one day. The restrictions will apply only while the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
