Notice is given that the Bassetlaw Local Plan Scoping Consultation commences on Thursday 3 September 2026 and ends at 5pm on Thursday 15 October 2026.
During this period, the Council is inviting representations on:
(i) such matters relevant to the preparation of the local plan as the Council considers appropriate, including what the plan should contain, and
(ii) how the Council should engage consultees in the preparation of the Local Plan.
The Local Plan Scoping Report, draft Engagement Strategy and supporting information is available on the Council's website. You can also view the documents at the Council's offices in Worksop, Retford and Harworth & Bircotes and at libraries throughout the district during opening hours.

Representations on the scoping report consultation must be received by the Council no later than 5pm, on 15 October 2026
Requests to be notified when one of the following Local
Plan stages occurs should be provided to:

• Consultation on proposed Local Plan content and evidence (Regulation 23)
• Publication of observations or advice
• Consultation on the Proposed Local Plan (Regulation 27)
• Submission of the Proposed Local Plan for Examination
• Independent Examination of the Local Plan (Regulation 35)
• Decision of the Examiner to consider further matters and pause the Examination
• Publication of document and evidence related to further matters
• Publication of the Examiner Report with recommendations and reasons
• Adoption or approval of the Local Plan
