ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1) (AS AMENDED)
The North York Moors National Park Authority has made an order the effect of which is to make the following closure in the parish of Loftus in the Borough of Redcar & Cleveland.
Public Footpath 12 Loftus: (A-B-C)
No pedestrian shall proceed along this footpath commencing at Greenhowe Farm on Grinkle Lane at Grid Reference NZ 7354 1394 (Point A) and proceeding in a generally easterly direction for 391metres to a bridge over Greenhowe Beck at Grid Reference NZ 7392 1388 (Point B) and then continuing in a generally easterly, southerly and then south-easterly direction for 626metres to the junction with FP10 Loftus at Grid Reference NZ 7433 1356 (Point C). A total distance of 1017 metres.
Alternative route over Greenhowe Beck:
Public Footpath 10 Loftus: (D-E-C)
Pedestrians can proceed along this footpath commencing on Grinkle Lane at Grid Reference NZ 7358 1467 (Point D), crossing over Greenhowe Beck via a bridge at Grid Reference NZ 7409 1409 (Point E) and then continuing in a generally southerly direction to the junction with FP12 Loftus at Grid Reference NZ 7433 1356 (Point C). A total distance of 1391 metres.
The Order is necessary to allow for the bridge to be replaced at Grid Reference NZ 7392 1388 (Point B).
The closure will be put into effect by means of the erection of notices and signs.
By approval of the Secretary of State for Transport on the 26th August 2026 – to an extension (ref: TTRO/Y&H/13325), the Order shall continue in force until 16th March 2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
