What is happening?
THE HAMPSHIRE
(CROWS NEST LANE, BOTLEY) (NO ENTRY) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 1st September 2026, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to:
(i) prohibit entry from Crows Nest Lane to Winchester Road
(ii) prohibit entry from Winchester Road to Crows Nest Lane
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Monday 14th September 2026.
FURTHER DETAILS: A copy of this notice, the proposed order, a map showing the location and effect of the proposal and a statement of reasons may be viewed at https://www.hants.gov.uk/community/publicnotices or inspected during the usual office hours at the following places:
(i) Hedge End Library, 11 Upper Northam Road, Hedge End, SO30 4DY (Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 09.30 – 17.00; Saturday: 09.30 – 13.30)
(ii) Eastleigh Borough Council, Eastleigh House, Upper Market Street, Eastleigh, SO50 9YN (Opening hours: Mondays – Friday: 08.30 – 17.00)
(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)
(iv) Copies of the order as made, plan and statement of reasons can also be obtained by e-mailing public.notices@hants.gov.uk or by writing to Traffic Orders Team, Safer Roads and Parking, Universal Services, 2nd Floor, Elizabeth II Court West, The Castle, Winchester SO23 8UD quoting reference: A2145/KK
APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Friday 23rd October 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
