Moving Traffic Prohibitions and Restrictions, North Somerset, Consolidation Order 2024 (Variation No.9) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 3 September 2026 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to amend the North Somerset Council (Moving Traffic Prohibitions and Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to introduce sections of one-way traffic restrictions at The Scaurs, Lower Kewstoke Road and Ebdon Road in Worle, Weston-super-Mare. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this notice. The order will come into operation on the 21 September 2026 and copies of the order may be inspected at:

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Schedule - Part 3: Moving Restrictions - One-Way: The Scaurs, Worle altering The Scaurs to one way on beginning at its junction with High Street and ending at its continuation into Lower Kewstoke Road. Lower Kewstoke Road, Worle creation of a section of one way from its continuation with The Scaurs and ending at its junction with Hollow Lane and the part of Lower Kewstoke Road that continues north from the traffic island. Ebdon Road, Worle creation of a section of one way from a point 16.5m southwest of the traffic island at Ebdon Road's junction with Hollow Lane and itself to its junction with High Street.

Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places (Consolidation) Order 2022 (Variation No.34) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of which will be to amend the North Somerset Council (Prohibition of Stopping, Waiting, Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2022 to include School Keep Clear markings, on roads within Clevedon, Dundry, Hewish, Nailsea, Portishead, Tickenham, Weston-super-Mare and Yatton. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this notice.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Vistry Homes for excavation for development works (subject to any planning consent). This order will become operative on the 6 October 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 months in duration, subject to progress of the works. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use Order 2026

Date coming into force: 11 September 2026

Ref: T26-72

Will be to close, temporarily, to all users the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, any vehicle associated with the works and for access to properties only accessible from within the specified lengths of roads.

This order was because of work being executed on the road by North Somerset Council to construct highway improvements and will become operative on the 11 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works. Not all roads will be closed at the same time appropriate traffic management and signage will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Well Lane between the junctions with Knightcott Road and Knightcott Road, and for approximately 75m south of Knightcott. Knightcott between the eastern end of Knightcott to a point approximately 50m west of the western junction with Well Lane. Castle Hill for approximately 100m in either direction from the junction with The Rhodyate. Riverside between a point approximately 150m north of Moor Road to a point approximately 500m north of Moor Road.
