Notice Of Proposal - (Corey’s Mill Lane And B197 North Road, Stevenage) (On Street Pay-By-Phone And Pay-By-Plate Parking Places) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the STEVENAGE BOROUGH COUNCIL, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, proposes to make the above-named Order under Sections 32, 35, 45-47, 49 and 53, of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

This order is proposed in order to relieve and prevent the congestion of traffic and improve the amenity of the area.

The effect of The Borough of Stevenage (Corey’s Mill Lane and B197 North Road, Stevenage)(On Street Pay-By-Phone and Pay-By-Plate Parking Places) Order 2026 would be to update the regulation of existing parking places in Corey’s Mill Lane and B197 North Road to require payment either using machines that do not require a paper ticket to be displayed or by telephone, improving reliability and convenience for drivers as they do not have to return to their vehicle and the ticket cannot slip off the dashboard.

The charges for parking in these parking places between 7:30am and 7:30pm, Monday to Saturday (excluding bank holidays and public holidays), would be:

The order would also revoke The Borough of Stevenage (Corey’s Mill Lane and B197 North Road, Stevenage)(On Street Pay and Display and Pay By Phone) Order 2016, The Borough of Stevenage (Corey’s Mill Lane and B197 North Road, Stevenage)(On Street Pay and Display and Pay By Phone) Order 2016 (Amendment) Order 2018, The Borough of Stevenage (Corey’s Mill Lane and B197 North Road, Stevenage)(On Street Pay and Display and Pay By Phone) Order 2016 (Amendment No 2) Order 2018 and The Hertfordshire (Coreys Mill Lane, Stevenage) (Parking Places) Order 2025 as they would no longer be needed, this order having replaced them.
