Patricia Filer Road – 20 Mph Speed Limit And Waiting Prohibition

CITY OF BRISTOL

PATRICIA FILER ROAD – 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT AND WAITING PROHIBITION, THE DRIVE – WAITING PROHIBITION TRAFFIC ORDERS

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 3rd September 2026 it made the following traffic orders:-

A. City Council of Bristol (City Council of Bristol (Patricia Filer Road, Filwood Ward, City of Bristol) (Restricted Parking Zone) Order 2026, the effect of which is to introduce prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in entire length of newly constructed Patricia Filer Road (in the form of a Restricted Parking Zone with standard vehicle exemptions);

B. City Council of Bristol (Various Roads – Inner South Area, Bedminster, Brislington East, Brislington West, Filwood, Knowle, Lawrence Hill, Southville and Windmill Hill Wards, City of Bristol) (De-Restriction) (20 Mph Speed Limit) (40 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2026, the effect of which is:-

(i) to introduce a 20 mph speed limit in newly constructed Patricia Filer Road, and

(ii) to consolidate the provisions of the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads – Inner South Area, Bedminster, Brislington East, Brislington West, Filwood, Knowle, Lawrence Hill, Southville and Windmill Hill Wards, City of Bristol)
(De-Restriction) (Restricted Roads) (20 Mph Speed Limit)
(40 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2023 which is revoked and its provisions brought forward unamended, alongside the addition of item (i) as above; and

C. City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, The Drive Area, Henleaze Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2026, the effect of which is:-

(i) to increase the prohibition of waiting length outside No. 2a The Drive (south side)/rear of No. 13 Lawrence Grove, and

(ii) to vary further the City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Henleaze Road Area, Henleaze, City of Bristol) (Northern Zone) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Prohibition of Stopping) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) (Loading Places) Order 2011 so as to remove the roads adjacent to The Drive area, in order to be regulated by this new order, and consolidate their waiting provisions.

The orders at A. and B. will come into operation on 7th November 2026 and the order at C. will come into operation on 14th September 2026. Copies thereof, together with annexed plans, a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the orders and copies of the orders to be varied and revoked may be inspected (in digital format) at the Citizen Service Point, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the traffic regulation orders A. and C. on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with may within six weeks after the date on which the traffic order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
