What is happening?
CITY OF DONCASTER COUNCIL
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or
proposed to be executed on or near the road and the effect will
be to prohibit any vehicle from entering, proceeding or waiting
in that length of Alverley Lane at Balby in the City of
Doncaster District as described in the Schedule to this notice
on the dates and times referred to in the said Schedule.
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce whilst works to install new street lighting are
undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles
affected by the Order is via Tickhill Road, Sandford Road,
Balby Road, High Road, Hall Flat Lane, Springwell Lane C7
Broomhouse Lane To Hall Flat Lane, Springwell Lane.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of the waiting restriction
imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions
of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Any contravention of the prohibitions or restrictions imposed
by this Order may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being
issued and the subsequent removal of a vehicle.

The Proposed Order will continue in force up to and including
the 31st day of October 2026 or until the works which it is
proposed to carry out in or near the said road have been
completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not
completed within the stated time the Order may be continued
in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for

Alverley Lane, Balby from its junction with Tickhill Road to
its junction with Springwell Lane.
Dates and Times
08:00hrs 22nd September 2026 until 16:00hrs 24th September
2026. The road will reopen daily.
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather
conditions, the closure may extend beyond this date although
all closures to be completed by the 31st October 2026.

EXTENSION NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the above named Order made by
City of Doncaster Council on the 5th day of March 2026
which came into force on the 16th day of March 2026 has
been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of
State for Transport under section 15(3) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 up to and including the
16th day of March 2027. The Order would otherwise have
expired on the 16th day of September 2026.
The Order was made to ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce whilst work is undertaken on the natural flood
management scheme and associated realignment of the
footpath.
Reason for the extension of the temporary order is that there
has been a delay with the contractors starting on site, it is now
anticipated that the main work will commence in September.
The path needs to remain closed whilst the work is completed.
NOTICE is also given that there is no alternative route for
pedestrians affected by the Order.

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council
iNOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council
intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to
make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic
(Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or
proposed to be executed on or near the public bridleway and
the effect will be to prohibit any traffic from proceeding in that
length of Public Bridleway No. 9 Thorpe In Balne in the City
of Doncaster District as described in the Schedule to this
notice from the 19th day of September 2027.
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the
workforce to allow Network Rail to carry out a feasibility
study and implement further measures to safeguard the public
using the crossing.

(i) Remove the existing 20mph speed limit on the following
road at Sprotbrough:
