LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(POINTER ROUNDABOUT, LANCASTER, LANCASTER CITY) (REMOVAL AND INTRODUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above pedestrian crossings under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Remove a zebra crossing in the following lengths of road:
a) Greaves Road, Lancaster, northbound, from a point 6 metres south of its junction with Pointer Roundabout for a distance of 34 metres in a southerly direction;
b) Greaves Road, Lancaster, southbound, from a point 36 metres south of its junction with Bowerham Road for a distance of 28 metres in a southerly direction.
2. Introduce a parallel crossing in the following lengths of road:
a) South Road (A6), Lancaster, northbound, from a point 18 metres north east of its junction with the centreline of Railway Street for a distance of 22 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) South Road (A6), Lancaster, southbound, from a point 8 metres north west of its junction with the centreline of Greaves Road for a distance of 23 metres in a north westerly direction;
c) Bowerham Road, Lancaster, eastbound, from a point 6 metres west of its junction with the centreline of Meadowside for a distance of 17 metres in a westerly direction;
d) Bowerham Road, Lancaster, westbound, from its junction with Greaves Road for a distance of 25 metres in a north easterly direction;
e) Ashton Road, Lancaster, eastbound, from a point 6 metres southwest of its junction with Greaves Road for a distance of 18 metres in a south westerly direction;
f) Ashton Road, Lancaster, westbound, from a point 7 metres east of its junction with the centreline of Charles Street for a distance of 21 metres in an easterly direction;
g) Greaves Road, Lancaster, northbound, from a point 4 metres south of its junction with Pointer Roundabout for a distance of 26 metres in a southerly direction;
h) Greaves Road, Lancaster, southbound, from a point 43 metres south of its junction with Bowerham Road for a distance of 24 metres in a southerly direction.
3. Introduce a priority crossing the following lengths of road:
a) Railway Street, Lancaster, from a point 5 metres west of its junction with Greaves Road for a distance of 3 metres in a westerly direction;
b) Meadowside, Lancaster, from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Bowerham Road for a distance of 3 metres in a northerly direction.
A copy of the relevant notice and plan indicating the location of the crossing maybe inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Lancaster City Council, Town Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PJ and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
