Temporary Traffic Management Order - (Surrey Road, Dagenham) (Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic And Pedestrians) Order 2026

Notice Of Intent
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate works for a UKPN Trench across the footpath and laying of cable, THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 5 October 2026.

The works expected for:
- A UKPN Trench across the footpath and laying of cable, to take 12 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 16 October 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When The Works Are Taking Place And The Appropriate Traffic Signs Are Being Displayed The Order Will Temporarily:
- Prohibit all pedestrians on Surrey Road, south side footpath, from the common boundary of Nos. 31 and 33 Surrey Road for 5.2 metres in a westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Surrey Road, both sides, from a point 14.5 metres west of its junction with Suffolk Road for 23.5 metres in a westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Surrey Road, both sides, from its junction with Suffolk Road for 14.5 metres in a westerly direction.
- Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Surrey Road, both sides, from its junction with Norfolk Road for 25.5 metres in an easterly direction.

- Suspend The Resident Permit Holders Only Zone DE Mon-Fri 8:30am – 5:30pm Bays At The Following Locations:
- Surrey Road, north side, outside Nos. 48 and outside Nos. 30 to 36 Surrey Road.
- Surrey Road, south side, outside No. 33 Surrey Road.
- Norfolk Road, west side, from a point 9 metres south of its junction with Surrey Road for 10 metres in a southerly direction.
- Suffolk Road, west side, from a point 10.5 metres south of its junction with Surrey Road for 10 metres in a southerly direction.

4. Alternative routes for pedestrians will be maintained and signed:
- Via Surrey Road north side footpath.

5. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:
- Via Suffolk Road, Reede Road, Norfolk Road and Vice Versa.
