What is happening?
THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HUMBLE LANE, MAIN STREET AND PLATTS LANE, COSSINGTON, BOROUGH OF CHARNWOOD)
(IMPOSITION OF A 30MPH SPEED LIMIT AND A RESTRICTED ROAD) ORDER 202
THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Sections 5, 81, 82(2), 83(2), 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, the effect of which will be:
To impose a 30-mph Speed Limit on parts of Humble Lane and Platts Lane, Cossington
To impose a Restricted Road (30 mph by virtue of streetlighting) on part of Main Street, Cossington
A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposals and an explanatory statement giving the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at my offices, Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RA, at the offices of Charnwood Borough Council, Southfield Road, Loughborough LE11 2TX and on the Notice Board of Cossington Parish Council.
Documents can also be viewed online at https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/cars-and-parking/traffic-management-consultations from 9th September 2026 Objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the undersigned by not later than 30th September 2026, quoting reference KJ/HTWMT/6241.
