What is happening?

GORCHYMYN (CAU LLWYBR TROED DROS DRO) (CANGEN CRYMLYN A CHAM LAS SIR FYNWY AC ABERHONDDU, CASNEWYDD) (RHIFAU LLWYBR TROED 387/24/1, 387/26/1, 387/27/1, 387/32/1, 398/1/1, 408/6/1 & 384/12/1, 384/15/1, 384/16/1, 408/3/1, 408/4/1) CYNGOR DINAS CASNEWYDD 2026

Hysbysir drwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau o dan Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y’i diwygiwyd) yn bwriadu, o fewn 7 diwrnod i ddyddiad yr hysbysiad hwn, wneud gorchymyn a fydd yn gwahardd unrhyw berson rhag symud ymlaen ar hyd Llwybr Troed yn yr atodlen isod.

Nid oes llwybr amgen.

Bydd system ‘stopio a phasio’ ar waith, lle bynnag y bo’n bosibl. Fodd bynnag, oherwydd peiriannau trwm a rhannau cul, bydd adegau pan na fydd mynediad trwodd. Bydd arwyddion rhybudd yn cael eu gosod mewn mannau mynediad allweddol yn ystod cyfnodau lle nad oes mynediad trwodd.

Y rheswm dros wneud y gorchymyn yw oherwydd gwaith clirio a chynnal a chadw llystyfiant. Bydd y gorchymyn arfaethedig yn weithredol o 21 Medi 2026 a bydd yn parhau mewn grym am gyfnod hyd at 6 mis neu hyd nes y bydd y gwaith y bwriedir ei wneud wedi’i gwblhau, pa un bynnag ddigwydd gyntaf.

Dyddiedig: 8 Medi 2026

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL

(CRUMLIN ARM & MONMOUTHSHIRE & BRECON CANAL, NEWPORT) (FOOTPATH NUMBERS 387/24/1, 387/26/1, 387/27/1, 387/32/1, 398/1/1, 408/6/1 & 384/12/1, 384/15/1, 384/16/1, 408/3/1, 408/4/1) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intends not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along Footpaths in the below schedule.

There is no alternative route.

There will be a ‘stop and pass’ system in place, wherever possible. However, due to heavy machinery and narrow sections, there will be times when there is no through access. Advanced warning signage will be placed at key entry points during periods of no through access.

The reason for making the order is due to vegetation clearance and maintenance works. The proposed order will be operative from 21st September 2026 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
