(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Wyke Lane, Scarisbrick for a distance of 20 metres either side of the level crossing.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 2359 hours on Saturday 26th September until 0700 hours on Sunday 27th September 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access for emergency services.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- Wyke Lane, Moss Lane, A5267 Roe Lane, B5276 Norwood Avenue, B5276 Meols Cop Road, A570 Scarisbrick New Road, A570 Southport Road, Snape Green, Wyke Cop Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow removal and replacement works of level crossing to be carried out.
