(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council intend to make the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to close Long Hey Lane for the following extent: From Long Hey Farm to the junction of Lower Scholes Fold. The closure is necessary for the following reason: Excavate to install approx. 160m of 96mm duct in the verge and carriageway & 1 underground box, then connect to the existing BT network.
The Order will come into force on 21st September 2026 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30th September 2026.
The alternative route for the affected traffic will be Long Hey Lane, Broadhead Road, Blackburn Road, Roman Road, Blacksnape Road, Hoddlesden Road, Queen Street and vice versa. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
