ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

(SCHOOL LANE, HORBURY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 261) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new water connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: School Lane, Horbury outside number 8. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of School Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: High Street, Cluntergate, Cross Street, Peel Street.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 7th September 2026 to 11th September 2026 between 08.00 hours to 17.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FAIRFIELD AVENUE, OSSETT)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 270) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection & fuse upgrade, to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Fairfield Avenue, Ossett, outside to opposite number 17. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Fairfield Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A. No through road.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st September 2026 to 25th September 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(PROW 10, WHARFEDALE DRIVE, NORMANTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 273) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for the existing FW4 chamber to be demolished and rebuilt away from site entrance carried out on or near PROW 10, Wharfedale Drive, Normanton, for approximately 10 metres, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Wharfedale Drive, Stablers Walk & vice versa.

The order comes into operation on 21st September 2026 to 23rd September 2026.

(FOOTPATH 8, STATION ROAD, NORMANTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 274) 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for construction of roads and drainage to new housing development and installing new surface to Footpath No. 8 to be carried out on or near Footpath 8, Station Road, Normanton, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath. Alternative route for pedestrians: Diversion signed on site.

The order comes into operation on 21st September 2026 to 21st March 2027.
