ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14(1) (GREAT GUILDFORD STREET) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PERMIT PARKING BAYS, TEMPORARY CYCLE HIRE PARKING PLACE RESTRICTION, TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OF PERMIT PARKING BAYS)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to improve road safety, it intends to make an order to temporarily introduce and temporarily remove restrictions detailed in section 2 of this order on Great Guildford Street at locations described in the schedule of this order.
2. The effect of the order is to (a) prohibit parking, stopping, waiting and loading of all vehicles except dockless hire bikes and dockless hire escooters in the locations described in the schedule of this order. (b) temporarily introduce a resident parking bay in zone C1 operational between 08:00-23:00 as detailed in the schedule to this order (c) temporarily introduce parking bays for the sole use of dockless hire bikes and escooters as detailed in the schedule of this order.
3. When road markings and signs are in place, no person shall cause a vehicle except dockless hire bikes and hire escooters to park in the locations detailed in section (b) of the schedule of this order.
4. The restrictions would not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the operation ofthe order, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
5. The temporary traffic order will be in operation from the 25th of September 2026. This order is valid for 18 months until the 24th of March 2028.
