TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1532 LONDON ROAD SOUTH, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the B1532 London Road South, Lowestoft from 100 metres northeast of the junction with Kendal Road for 30 metres north eastbound to facilitate the renewal of a water fire hydrant. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion routes will be:
- London Road South, Belvedere Road, Horn Hill, the A12 Tom Crisp Way, Carlton Road and no vice versa
- Carlton Road, the A12 Tom Crisp Road, Horn Hill, Belvedere Road, Pier Terrace, Denmark Road, Katwijk Way, B1532 Marine Parade, Wellington Esplanade, Kirkley Cliff Road, Kensington Road and no vice versa
It is intended that the closure will operate from 07/09/2026 - 09/09/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE B1532 LONDON ROAD SOUTH AND THE U9007 RECTORY ROAD, LOWESTOFT
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1532 London Road South, Lowestoft from the junction with Waterloo Road for 60 metres southbound to facilitate a gas service disconnection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Rectory Road, Kirkley Cliff Road, Kensington Road, the A12 and vice versa.
For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the U9007 Rectory Road, Lowestoft.
It is intended that these measures will operate from 16/09/2026 - 18/09/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
