TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4126 BYRON ROAD, IPSWICH
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U4126 Byron Road, Ipswich from Shakespeare Road to Macaulay Road to facilitate footway slurry works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Macaulay Road, Whitton Church Lane, Shakespeare Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 16/09/2026 - 19/09/2026 from 8am - 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF GISLEHAM)
(FOOTPATH 4) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
This Order, which came into effect on 15/09/2025, closing Footpath 4 from Church Road for 130 metres south westbound has been extended in force by the Minister until 15/09/2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
This closure remains required to facilitate safe movement of vehicles for the flood protections. Without extension the order would have been in effect until 15/09/2026.
The diversion route remains either side of the footpath with a crossing point halfway along the footpath.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF BABERGH)
(MAIN ROAD) (B1456) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order for the District of Babergh under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to introduce a 40mph speed limit to Main Road (B1456) from a point 379m southeast of the junction with the U4108 Glebe Lane, Woolverstone, to a point 212m west of the western junction with the U4143 Woodlands, Chelmondiston, for a total distance of approximately 1192m.
Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, Monday: 9am - 6pm, Tuesday: 9am - 7pm, Wednesday: 9am - 6pm, Thursday: 9am - 6pm, Friday: 9am - 7pm, Saturday: 8.30am - 5pm, Sunday: 10am - 4pm.
Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Suffolk County Council Legal Services at the address below or at: legaltrafficorders@suffolk.gov.uk no later than 25/09/2026.
