TRAFFIC ORDERS 2026
Norfolk County Council has made the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the 1st September 2026, which come into effect on the 7th September 2026 and give the following notices:
The Norfolk County Council (Long Stratton, C345 Swan Lane and U71874 Brookes Way) (30 M.P.H Speed Limit) Order 2026
The effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 30 miles per hour along the U71874 Brookes Way from its junction with the C345 Swan Lane eastwards for 31 metres and along the C345 Swan Lane from its junction with the U71874 Brookes Way to a point 71 metres north-westwards. This includes a short existing section of Swan Lane currently subject to a 20mph speed limit, at the point where that limit meets the national speed limit, which will become subject to a 30mph limit, together with the newly constructed realigned section of highway that will be subject to a new 30mph limit.
Following publication of the Notice on 24 July 2026, one reference to “Brookes Lane” in the Notice has been corrected to “Brookes Way”. The Order, associated plans and relevant unique road reference correctly identify the road concerned. This is a typographical correction only and does not affect the substance, effect or extent of the Order.
The Norfolk County Council (Long Stratton, C345 Swan Lane) (20 M.P.H Speed Zone) Order 2026
The effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 20 miles per hour along the C345 Swan Lane from its junction with the C889 The Street north-westwards to its junction with the U71874 Brookes Way.
The Norfolk County Council (Long Stratton and Tharston, Swan Lane) (20mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 2013 (the “2013 Order”) will become revoked on the date of commencement of this Order.
A copy of the Orders, plan, and a copy of the 2013 being revoked are available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of South Norfolk Council, Horizon Business Centre, Peachman Way, Norwich, NR7 0WF during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.
