TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER – WESTERN ROAD
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-
The temporary suspension of the existing one-way traffic orders in the following roads to allow for two way movements:
Lansdowne Street
Brunswick Street West
Farm Road
Brunswick Street East between Lower Market Street and Western Road
Waterloo Street
Brunswick Road
Little Western Street between Norfolk Place to Western Road
Norfolk Square both sides of the green
Norfolk Square from Bedford Place.
Bedford Place
Borough Street
Norfolk Road
2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out works as part of Western Road reconstruction and to maintain access.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
4. This Order comes into force on 28 September 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 6 November 2026.
