CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B6318 CATLOWDY, C2048 BRACKENTHWAITE, NEAR WIGTON AND C1009 IVESTUNTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- B6318 Catlowdy, from its junction with the entrance to the property known as The Paddock, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 180m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B6318, C1013, Walton, A6071, Albert Street, Longtown, A7, B7201 Canonbie and B6357.
Duration: From 21 September 2026 for approx. 24 days (Ref: TTROC/19587)
- C2048 Brackenthwaite, near Wigton, from its junction with the U2147, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 190m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2048, A595 and U2069.
Duration: From 22 September 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROC/19676)
- C1009 Westlinton, from its junction with the A6071, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 2.5km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1009, A7 Blackford to Longtown and A6071.
Duration: From 1 October 2026 for approx. 28 days (Ref: TTROC/19679)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
