Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B5307 ANGERTON, C2015 NEAR BECKFOOT, C2047 ROSLEY AND C2048 FORRESTER FOLD, WIGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. B5307 Angerton from its junction with the C2040, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 370m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307, U2006 Newton Arlosh and C2040 Kirkbride.
Duration: From 21 September 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/19230)
2. C2015, near Beckfoot from its junction with the U2032, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.6km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2015, B5301 and B5300 Silloth to Beckfoot.
Duration: From 21 September 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18792)
3. C2047, Rosley from its junction with the C2041, extending in an overall northerly direction for its entire length to its junction with the B5305.
Alternative Route: via the B5305, B5299 and C2041.
Duration: From 19 October 2026 for approx. 19 days (Ref: TTROC/18796)
4. C2048, Forrestor Fold, Wigton from its junction with the B5305, extending in an overall easterly direction for its entire length to its junction with the A595.
Alternative Route: via the B5305 and A595.
Duration: From 9 November 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18801)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
