What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL
SAFER STREETS SCHEME 20 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2026

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to impose a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the roads specified in the Schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 14.9.26. A copy of it may be examined at the address below between the hours of 11am and 2.00pm Monday to Friday or at Permanent highway notices – Redcar and Cleveland (redcar-cleveland.gov.uk)

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to it, you may, within 6 weeks from 8.9.26 apply to the High Court for that purpose.
