What is happening?

(Gages Road, Belchamp St. Paul) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gages Road, Belchamp St. Paul in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 510m north east of its junction with Knowl Green Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th October 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNT1R2D – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach. An alternative route is available via Gages Road, Cole Green, Vicarage Road, Church Street, Shearing Place Road, Hickford Hill, Ashen Road, Bradley Hill, Clare Road, Tilbury Road, Clare Road, Ovington Road, Belchamp Road, Knowl Green, Gages Road and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 17th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. DATED: 10TH SEPTEMBER 2026
