What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (GLEN EYRE ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (176/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make
the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Glen Eyre Road from its junction with Bassett Avenue to its junction with Violet Road.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for highway improvements and resurfacing.
3. The alternative route will be Bassett Avenue, Burgess Road and Glen Eyre Road.
4. The Order will come into force on 21st September 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 16th October 2026.
