Southampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Tree Cutting Works
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (ATHELSTAN ROAD) (ROAD CLOSURE) (147/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council made the above Order on 31st August 2026.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Athelstan Road from its junction with Bitterne Road West to its junction with Garfield Road.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for tree cutting works.
3. The alternative route will be Bitterne Road West, Maybray King Way, West End Road and Peartree Avenue.
4. The Order will come into force on 8th September 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 8th September 2026.
