What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING B5129 CHESTER ROAD WEST, BROOK ROAD AND VICTORIA ROAD SHOTTON
PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME, LIMITED WAITING, LOADING ONLY AND NO STOPPING EXCEPT BUSES
Notice is hereby given that on the 1st September 2026, Flintshire County Council made an Order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, Part IV of Schedule 9 and all other enabling powers, the effect of which is to amend The Flintshire County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement and Consolidation) Order 2013, so as to:
1. Introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions:-
a. On the northwest side of Brook Road, Shotton.
b. On both sides of the B5129 Chester Road West, near to its junction with Brook Road.
2. Remove sections of double yellow lining and introduce Limited Waiting restrictions - 30 minutes No Return within 1 Hour between 8am – 6pm and Loading only between 6pm – 8am
a. On the B5129 Chester Road West
(i) Between number 17 and 23
(ii) Between number 30 and 40
(iii) Between number 37 and 41
(iv) Between number 65 and 73
3. Goods Vehicle Loading only
a. On the easterly side of Victoria Road.
4. Amend the existing No Stopping Except Buses 7am-7pm to No Stopping Except Buses (24 hours) on the B5129 Chester Road West and to incorporate them into the Flintshire County Council Map Based system on:-
a. B5129 Chester Road West
(i) Between numbers 12 and 26
(ii) Between numbers 51 and 57
(iii) Between numbers 81 and 91
(iv) Between numbers 94 and 104
In all other respects the present provisions of the ‘The Flintshire County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement and Consolidation) Order 2013’ will remain in force.
Should you wish to view a copy of this Notice, the Order which will come into operation on the 11th September 2026, plans showing the roads affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for the making of the Order, they may be inspected during normal opening hours at Flintshire Connects, Wepre Drive, Connah’s Quay CH5 4HA. The documents will also be available to be viewed on our website at www.Flintshire.gov.uk > Resident > Roads, Streets and Travel > Traffic Regulation Orders or you can request a copy of the documents by emailing transportstrategyconsultation@flintshire.gov.uk or by calling 01352 701234.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that any requirements of the Act or any instruments made under it has not been complied with, you may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
