(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Nether Court Footpath, Halstead in the District of Braintree from the rear boundary of number 122 Northwood for approximately 15 metres.
Diversion route: Footpath around Nether Court and vice versa.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 07 September 2026 to 09 September 2026 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public to allow stoptap replacements works to take place.
The Order will come into effect on 07 September 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Castle Lane/Falcon Square/King Street/Queen Street & St James Street, Castle Hedingham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Castle Lane, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bayley Street to its junction with Falcon Square a distance of approximately 120m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Falcon Square, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Majendie Lane to its junction with King Street a distance of approximately 55m.
3. To temporarily close that length of King Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Queen Street for a distance of approximately 35m in north westerly then north easterly direction.
4. To temporarily close that length of Queen Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with King Street to its junction with Church Lane a distance of approximately 50m.
5. To temporarily close that length of St James Street, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with King Street to its junction with Majendie Lane a distance of approximately 50m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 27th September 2026 for 1 day, 4th October 2026 for 1 day, 11th October 2026 for 1 day and 18th October 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WH2L9N5HBS to BC008WH2L9N5H19SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
Alternative routes are available via:
1. Queen Street, Station Road, A1017, Nunnery Street, Pye Corner, Bayley Street and vice versa.
2. Church Ponds, Crown Street and onto diversion 1.
3. Church Lane, Crown Street and onto diversion 1.
4. St James Street, Bayley Street and onto diversion 1.
The Order will come into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Green, Little Yeldham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Green, Little Yeldham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 345m north east then north west of its junction with School Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th September 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03163136294 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via School Road, Little Yeldham Road, Leather Lane, North Road, Tilbury Road, Tilbury Hill, Belchamp Road and vice versa (with access only into Mashey Road and Church Green).
The Order will come into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Lane, Colne Engaine)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Colne Park Road to its junction with Church Street a distance of approximately 1725m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th September 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2391565 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching, gully clearance and signage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Church Street, The Green, Green Farm Road, Overhall Hill, Countess Cross, Lawshalls’ Hill, Colne Park Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 10th September 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
