To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Street – for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 14 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 14 and 15 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Burdett Road – from the junction with B2100 Crowborough Hill to the junction with U7152 Forest Rise.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 16 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which
will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Tilsmore Road – from the junction with U7602 Ghyll Road to the junction with A265 High Street.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7368 Mill Road – U7602 Ghyll Road.
The Order commences 14 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 16 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Piccadilly Lane – from the junction with C211 East Street to the junction with C14 Newick Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C211 East Street – C14 Fletching Street, High Street, Station Road, Stone Cross, Newick Lane and vice versa.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Church Road – from the junction with C11 Croft Road to the junction with A26 Beacon Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Croft Road – C252 South View Road – A26 Beacon Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 15 September 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (Skyline Events London to Brighton Cycle Ride)
(Special Event) Order 2026
To enable Skyline Events to hold the London to Brighton cycle event on Sunday 13 September 2026, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 16 A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions on the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure – from 00:01hrs to 23:59hrs on 13 September 2026
C203 Upper Beacon Road & C203 Ditchling Road, Ditchling – from the junction with B2112 Clayton Road to the Brighton & Hove county boundary.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic south via Ditchling Road toward Coldean Lane. Turn right onto Coldean Lane. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Carden Avenue. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A27 ramp to Worthing/London/Hove/A23. Merge onto A27. Take the ramp to A23/London/Brighton/Gatwick Airport. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto A27. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto London Road/A23. Slight left onto A273. Turn right onto B2112 Clayton Road and vice versa.
Access by emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The Order commenced 19 January 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 and 2 September 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
