TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (GLOUCESTER ROAD) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 16 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Gloucester Road to be closed from the junction of the Queen's Gate Terrace to the junction of Elvaston Place.
The road is to be closed to vehicles for an event.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs until 17.00hrs on Sunday 20th September 2026.
Diverted through traffic may use Gloucester Road, Cromwell Road, Queen's Gate, Kensington Road, Gloucester Road, or Kensington Road, Queen's Gate, Stanhope Gardens, Gloucester Road.
Local through traffic may use Gloucester Road, Queen's Gate Terrace, Queen's Gate, Elvaston Place, Gloucester Road.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
• anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
• anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
