What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable overhead-line reconductoring works, including the removal of existing conductors and installation of new conductors, to be carried out -
Jacobs Lane, Hoo St Werburgh - to be closed to all vehicular traffic from the junction with Stoke Road in a generally south-easterly direction for a distance of 750 metres. An alternative route will be available via Stoke Road and Eschol Road in both directions.
This Order will come into force on Saturday, 19 September 2026 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence by Notice on or after Monday 14th September which will be continued in force
by a temporary Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The works are programmed for completion by 9 October 2026. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.
