(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING, PARKING PLACES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (AMENDMENT NO 37) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL HAS MADE the above Order the effect of which will be to further amend the WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING, PARKING PLACES AND RESIDENTS’ PARKING) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2009 (as amended) (“the Principal Order”) to the extent as set out below but in all other respect the Principal Order remains in force:
PLANS
Schedule 2 of the Principal Order shall be amended by the revision of the following plans:
L66, L68, L70, M66, AL75, AL77, AL78, AL79, AN72, AQ75, AS73, AU74, AW74, AY75, AZ75, AZ76, BA75, BA76, BJ81, BL73, BT56, BT57, BX39, BX42, BX84, BX85, BY52 and BZ37
Schedule 2 of the Principal Order shall be amended by the addition of the following plans:
L65, AP75, BM72, BX44, BZ50 and BZ51
The proposals will result in changes to or addition of parking restrictions at the following locations:
Thatcham – Church Gate, Colthrop Lane, Enterprise Way, Gables Way, Green Lane, Lower Way, Meadow Close, Roger Croft Drive, Victor Road
Purley on Thames – Chestnut Grove, Long Lane and Wintringham Way
Hungerford – Charnham Park, Fairfields Close, High Street, Morley Place, A338 Salisbury Road, Tarrants Hill, and Tealgate
Newbury – Andover Road, Bartholomew Street, Meadow Road, Orchardene
Tilehurst – Cranmer Close, Fairway Avenue, Hawthornes, Heathfield Avenue, Highworth Way, Longleat Drive, Maple Drive and Volter Drive
Greenham – Hambridge Lane
Aldermaston – Wasing Lane
Beenham – A4 Bath Road
Padworth – A4 Bath Road
Theale – Englefield Road
Stratfield Mortimer – Tower Gardens
The order was made on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and will come into force on Friday 4th September 2026.

Hard copies of the amendment order, principal order, detailed plans and explanatory statement can be inspected at the offices of West Berkshire Council, Market St, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 5LD during office hours. These documents are also available to view on the Council’s website at www.westberks.gov.uk/parking-review-37 or by scanning the QR code above.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or any provisions contained within it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 1st September 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
