Warwick Terrace – Pedestrian Crossing and Adjustment to Waiting Restrictions [T12(26)]

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Greenwich (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984), as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders would be to:
a) adjust the double yellow line ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions (AAT) to align with the new kerb line (footway build out) in Old Mill Road– at its junction with (j/w) Warwick Terrace:
i. (western arm) north-west side, for approximately 8 metres (m);
ii. (eastern arm) south-west and south-east sides, for approx. 9m;
b) provide AAT in Warwick Terrace (southern arm, north-east side) – for approx. 6.5m southeastwardly from the new southeastern
kerb line of Old Mill Road (footway build out), joining existing AAT;
c) introduce a ‘No Entry’ restriction in a southwestwardly direction on Old Mill Road at its j/w Warwick Terrace.
3. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council proposes, under section 23 of the RTRA 1984, to provide a new “zebra” pedestrian crossing* outside No. 16 Warwick Terrace.
*Associated zig-zag markings, on which vehicles are prohibited from stopping ‘at all times’, would be placed on the carriageway on either side of the pedestrian crossing replacing existing waiting restrictions for the same length.
4. Copies of the proposed Orders and other relevant documents can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, inclusive, at the Woolwich Centre Library, The Woolwich Centre, 35 Wellington Street, London SE18 6HQ.
