Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TONBRIDGE & MALLING AREA

Birling Road, Leybourne, ME19 5HY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow heavy jet and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Birling Road, Leybourne, on or after 1st October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of 215 The Cottage, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Birling Road, A228 Leybourne By Pass, A228 Ashton Way, A20 London Road, Roughetts Road, The Street, Birling Road, Ryarsh Road, Bull Road, Birling Road and vice versa.



Blackmans Lane, Hadlow, TN11 0AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Blackmans Lane, Hadlow, on or after 18th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 150 metres South of Blackmans Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Blackmans Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Hadlow Road East, Three Elm Lane, Blackmans Lane and vice versa.



Canon Lane, Wateringbury, ME18 5PQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Canon Lane, Wateringbury, on or after 16th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 80 metres North of Canon House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Castle Street, Tonbridge, TN9 1HG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow signage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Castle Street, Tonbridge, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from A227 High Street to Bank Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A227 High Street, Lansdowne Road, Lodge Road, Stafford Road, The Slade and vice versa.



Cedar Close, Ditton, ME20 6EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow BT work to be completed, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Cedar Close, Ditton, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in its entirety. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Coldharbour Lane, Hildenborough, TN11 9LE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow heavy jet and CCTV works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coldharbour Lane, Hildenborough, on or after 15th September 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hilden Brook, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Forest Drive, Walderslade, ME5 9NP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Forest Drive, Walderslade, on or after 28th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property numbers 1 & 2. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Huntsman Lane, Wrotham Heath, TN15 7SN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow cover repairs on A25 Maidstone Road to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Huntsman Lane, Wrotham Heath, on or after 1st October 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed. The one way order on Huntsman Lane will be suspended to allow for diversion.

The road will be closed at the junction with A25 Maidstone Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Huntsman Lane, A20 London Road, A25 Maidstone Road and vice versa. The one way order on Huntsman Lane will be suspended to allow for diversion.



Love Lane, Wateringbury, ME18 5DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY

ORDER 2026

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and parking on part of Love Lane, Wateringbury, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 22 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed and parking prohibited from the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road to the side of property number 5 Love Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, Mill Lane, Love Lane and vice versa.



Old Road, Wateringbury, ME18 5PL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Road, Wateringbury, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 22 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A26 Tonbridge Road to property number 167 Old Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A26 Tonbridge Road, Pizien Well Road, Old Road and vice versa.



Paddlesworth Road, Snodland, ME6 5RJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow new surface water connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Paddlesworth Road, Snodland, on or after 28th September 2026 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from St Benedict Road to Snodland FC entrance for approximately 20 metres. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stangate Road, Snodland Road, St Benedict Road and vice versa.



Plowenders Close, Addington, ME19 5DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plowenders Close, Addington, on or after 2nd October 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Trottiscliffe Road to property number 1A Plowenders Close. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



School Lane, Wouldham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow works to overhead structure to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Wouldham, on or after 14th September 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Pilgrims Way, for a distance approximately 635 metres in a West direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative routes for any through traffic are via:

Diversion 1 - Pilgrims Way, Knowle Road, High Street.

Diversion 2 - High Street, Rochester Road, Wouldham Road, Burham Road, Pilgrims Way.



Stickens Lane, East Malling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stickens Lane, East Malling, on or after 29th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 100 metres South of property number 35. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stickens Lane, Well Street, Broadwater Road, Clare Lane, Mill Street, Stickens Lane and vice versa.



Sweets Lane, East Malling, ME19 6BA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sweets Lane, East Malling, on or after 18th September 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 25 metres South of Manor Farm track. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Sweets Lane, The Rocks Road, Four Acres, Chapel Street, Wateringbury Road, Sweets Lane and vice versa.



Teston Road, Offham, ME19 5PF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow telegraph pole replacement and associated cable rehanging works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Teston Road, Offham, on or after 16th September 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 75 metres West of Hunters Moon. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Teston Road, Comp Lane, B2016 Seven Mile Lane, Teston Road and vice versa.



Tonbridge Road, East Peckham, TN12 5LA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow permanent reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tonbridge Road, East Peckham, on or after 19th September 2026 until 06:00 hours on 21st September 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 370. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tonbridge Road, Hatches Lane, Chidley Cross Road, Pound Road, Old Road, Hale Street, B2015 Maidstone Road, A228 Maidstone Road Roundabout, A228 Seven Mile Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A26 Maidstone Road, Court Lane, Victoria Road, Three Elm Lane, Tonbridge Road and vice versa.



Whimbrel Green, Larkfield, ME20 6LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Whimbrel Green, Larkfield, on or after 16th September 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 22. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.



Windmill Hill, Wrotham Heath, TN15 7SN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow cover repairs on A25 Maidstone Road to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Windmill Hill, Wrotham Heath, on or after 1st October 2026 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with the A25 Maidstone Road, between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Windmill Hill, Comp Lane, Long Mill Lane, Grange Road, A25 Maidstone Road and vice versa.



Various Roads, Tonbridge (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and parking on parts of Various Roads, Tonbridge, on or after 28th September 2026 for up to 141 days or until the works have been completed as detailed below:

Kings Road will be closed and parking prohibited in 2 phases:

In the vicinity of the junction with Goldsmid Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. Parking will be prohibited from the junction with Goldsmid Road to outside and opposite property number 1 Kings Road.

In the vicinity of the junction with Lodge Oak Lane to outside and opposite property number 51.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kings Road, Lodge Oak Lane, Tudeley Lane, A2014 Pembury Road, Goldsmid Road, Kings Road and vice versa.

Lodge Oak Lane will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Tudeley Lane, and parking will be prohibited from the junction with Tudeley Lane to the junction with Vale Rise. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lodge Oak Lane and vice versa.

Dowgate Close will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Lodge Oak Lane and parking will be prohibited from the junction with Lodge Oak Lane to outside & opposite property number 75 on both sides of the carriageway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dowgate Close, Lodge Oak Lane and vice versa.

Sommerhill Road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Lodge Oak Lane, and parking will be prohibited from the junction with Lodge Oak Lane for distance of approximately 25 metres on both sides of the carriageway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Somerhill Road, Gorham Drive, Lodge Oak Lane and vice versa.

Hectorage Road will be closed and parking prohibited in the vicinity of the junction with Lodge Oak Lane, to outside and opposite property number 121. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lodge Oak Lane, Kings Road, Goldsmid Road, Hectorage Road and vice versa.

Tudeley Lane will be closed from the junction with Lodge Oak Lane to the junction with Five Oak Road. Parking will be prohibited from the junction with A2014 Pembury Road to the junction with Five Oak Green Road on both sides of the carriageway, and from outside property number 11 to the junction with Lodge Oak Lane on both sides of the carriageway. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when safe to do so.

Goldsmid Road will have parking prohibited from the junction with A2014 Pembury Road to outside and opposite property number 28 on both sides of the carriageway.

Gorham Drive will have parking prohibited in its entirety on both sides of the carriageway.
