What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
Boxted Lane, Newington, ME9 7FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Boxted Lane, Newington from 18th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Rift Valley Farm and the junction with School Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via School Lane, Church Lane, A2 High Street, London Road, Hartlip Hill, Breach Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne, ME10 2JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow sewer maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Charlotte Street, Sittingbourne from 14th September 2026 with estimated completion by 9th October 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30, weekdays only, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Jubilee Street and Millen Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Millen Road, B2006 St Pauls Street, Staplehurst Road, Chalkwell Road, Watsons Hill and vice versa.
Marshalls will be on site to maintain residential access.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Doddington Lane, Doddington, ME9 0AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Doddington Lane, Doddington from 29th September 2026 with estimated completion by 30th September 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the M2 overbridge and the junction with Chequers Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Christopher Row, The Street, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street, Chequers Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Street & Central Avenue, Sittingbourne. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow defect works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street & Central Avenue, Sittingbourne from 19:00 hours on 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 02:00 hours on 15th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
High Street will be closed between the junctions with Central Avenue and Bell Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Central Avenue, Avenue of Remembrance and Bell Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The One-Way Order on Central Avenue will be suspended for the duration of the works, to allow for diverted traffic.
Perry Wood, Selling, ME13 9RT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Perry Wood, Selling from 16th September 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 08:30 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Terrys Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shepherds Hill, Grove Road, Perry Wood and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Plough Road, Minster-on-sea, ME12 3SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Plough Road, Minster-on-sea from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 25th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Scocles Road, Minster-on-sea, ME12 3FJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow gas mains installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Scocles Road, Minster-on-sea from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 25th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Thistle Hill Way and Elm Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2500 Lower Road, Barton Hill Drive, B2008 Minster Road, High Street, Back Lane, Scocles Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Susans Lane, Upchurch, ME9 7HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Susans Lane, Upchurch from 14th September 2026, with estimated completion by 18th September 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Frog Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warren Lane, Hartlip. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Warren Lane, Hartlip from 28th September 2026, with estimated completion by 9th October 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 40m from the motorway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Matts Hill Lane, Yaugher Lane, Meresborough Lane, Place Lane, Warren Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Faversham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow crane works for building repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of various roads in Faversham. This order takes effect from 14th September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published on One.Network in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

Various Roads, Warden & Eastchurch. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, PEDESTRIANS & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2026
To allow water mains installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic and pedestrians on part of various roads throughout Warden and Eastchurch. This order takes effect on or after 29th September 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

Beach Approach, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety, in phases:
Phase 1 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Cliff View Gardens.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jetty Road, Imperial Drive, Emerald View, Cliff View Gardens and vice versa.
Phase 2 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Cliff View Gardens and Thorn Hill Road.
There is no alternative route for this phase, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Bramley Way, Eastchurch
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Church Road, Eastchurch
The road will be closed between the junctions with High Street and Rowetts Way.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A2500 Lower Road and B2231 Rowetts Way. Residential access for Church Road will be maintained.
The One-Way Order on Church Road will be suspended between the junctions with High Street and Rowetts Way.
Imperial Drive, Warden
The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Emerald View, in phases:
Phase 1 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Jetty Road and Waterside View.
Phase 2 - The road will be closed between the junctions with Waterside View and Emerald View.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Jetty Road, Beach Approach, Cliff View Gardens, Emerald View and vice versa.
Jetty Road, Warden
The road will be closed between the junctions with Beach Approach and Imperial Drive.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Imperial Drive, Emerald View, Cliff View Gardens, Beach Approach and vice versa.
Leicester Gardens, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Manor Way, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.

The road will be closed in its entirety.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, A2500 Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Plough Road and vice versa.
Waterside View, Warden
The road will be closed in its entirety.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Emerald View, Warden
Pedestrians will be prohibited from using the footpath between the junctions with Emerald View and Waterside View.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via Waterside View, Imperial Drive, Emerald View and vice versa.
Pedestrians will be prohibited from using the footpath between the junctions with Emerald View and Melody Close.
The alternative route for pedestrians is via Melody Close, Emerald View and vice versa.
