Public Notices - Proposed Revocation Of Width Restrictions In Abbey Road And Pincott Road - The Merton (Prescribed Route) - (Abbey Road And Pincott Road) - (Revocation) Traffic Order 202*
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON propose to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Order would be to revoke:-
(a) THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (Prescribed Route) (No. 49) Order 1990 which prohibited vehicles exceeding a width 2.13 metres (7 feet) from proceeding in Pincott Road opposite the common boundary wall of Nos. 58 and 60 Pincott Road;
(b) THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (Prescribed Route) (No. 50) Order 1990 which prohibited vehicles exceeding a width of 2.13 metres (7 feet) from proceeding in Abbey Road at its junction with Station Road.
NB:- the width restrictions are redundant following the introduction of point closures at the above-mentioned locations.

3. A copy of the proposed Order and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours, at: Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

4. LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON - Proposed Introduction And Removal Of Disabled Persons Parking Places - The Merton (Free Parking Places) - (Disabled Persons) (No. 296) Order 2026 - The Merton (Parking Places) (2F) - (Amendment No. 1) Order 2026 - The Merton (Parking Places) (CW) - (Amendment No. 2) Order 2026 - The Merton (Parking Places) (GC1) - (Amendment No.3) Order 2026* - The Merton (Parking Places) (H1) - (Amendment No. 1) Order 2026 - The Merton (Parking Places) (S2) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON made the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the ‘Free Parking Places’ Order will be to:–
(a) designate a parking place on the carriageway at each of the locations listed in Schedule 1 to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;
(b) provide that the parking places would operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;
(c) specify, in respect of the parking places, that vehicles displaying in the relevant position, a disabled persons badge (commonly referred to as "the Blue Badge") issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;
(d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc;
(e) relocate the existing disabled persons parking place outside No. 44 Fortescue Road eastward by 1.3 metres;
(f) revoke the disabled persons parking places at the locations specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

3. The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Orders will be to shorten in length existing permit only parking places to facilitate the introduction of disabled persons parking place in certain roads or extend existing permit parking places upon the removal of disabled persons parking places.

NB. The permit only parking place outside Nos. 40 and 42 Fortescue Road would be extended in length by 4.8 metres following the relocation of the adjacent disabled parking place.

4. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into force on 14 September 2026, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the roads or lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected during normal office hours Mondays to Fridays, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at: Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON - Proposed Zebra Crossing Installation – Wide Way, Morden
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON, after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to introduce a zebra crossing under powers conferred by section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in:-

Wide Way, Morden, the centre point of which would be 6 metres north-west of the eastern flank wall of No. 66 Wide Way.

2. The "controlled area" in which stopping, waiting and loading is prohibited at all times would apply on both the approach and exit sides of the crossing, with the zig-zag markings extending to a maximum of 17.1 metres on either side from the middle of the crossing.

3. A plan of the area showing the crossing can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Friday at: Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

4. LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON - Proposed Zebra Crossing Installation – Copse Hill/Atkinson Close, SW20
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of THE LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON, after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to introduce a zebra crossing under powers conferred by section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in:-
Copse Hill, SW20, the centre point of which would be 13.8 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Atkinson Close (western arm).

2. The pedestrian crossing would include a central island pedestrian refuse and the "controlled area" in which stopping, waiting and loading is prohibited at all times would apply on both the approach and exit sides of the crossing, with the zig-zag markings extending to a maximum of 28.5 metres on either side from the middle of the crossing.

3. A plan of the area showing the crossing can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Friday at: Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

4.
