What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (BLUE HILL ROAD, AMBLESIDE AND BACK ROAD,

LINDALE AND LAKE ROAD, CONISTON AND U5340, LEASGILL)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

Blue Hill Road, Ambleside, from a point approx. 45 metres north west of its junction with Fisherbeck Lane, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 30 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Blue Hill Road, Fisherbeck Lane and Old Lake Road.

Duration: From 23rd September 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/20214)

Back Road, Lindale, from its junction with School Lane, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 25 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Back Lane, C5046 and School Hill.

Duration: From 30th September 2026 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/20100)

Lake Road, Coniston, from its junction with Beck Yeat, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 125 metres.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 5th October 2026 for approx. 2 nights during the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 ONLY (Ref: TTROW/20298)

U5340, Leasgill, from its junction with the C5072, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 115 metres.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

Duration: From 5th October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROW/20376)

The Order will come into operation on 23rd September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
