Croydon - Multiple Temporary Traffic Notices & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 - Norman Avenue, Purley Bury Avenue, Purley Downs Road, Penwortham Road, & Yew Tree Walk, South Croydon & Purley Temporary Restriction Of Traffic
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on the above roads.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place the roads/sections of road below will be closed in phases from 03 September 2026.

3. Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
- Norman Avenue Westbound: Via Purley Downs Road, Riddlesdown Road, Brighton Road, Sanderstead Road, and Florence Road.
- Norman Avenue Eastbound: Via Purley Downs Road, Penwortham Road, and Purley Oaks Road.
- Yew Tree Walk: Via Brancaster Lane, and Purley Bury Avenue.
- Purley Downs Road: Via Brighton Road, Purley Road, Godstone Road, Downs Court Road, Mitchley Avenue, Rectory Park, Sanderstead Hill and vice versa.
- Purley Bury Avenue: Via Brancaster Lane, and Yew Tree Walk.
- Penwortham Road: Via Victoria Avenue, and Norman Avenue.

4. The Order will come into operation on 03 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within approximately thirteen weeks. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Brickwood Road, Croydon Temporary Restriction Of Vehicular Traffic & Parking
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Brickwood Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Brickwood Road will be closed between the rear boundary of No. 57 Addiscombe Road and the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 8 Brickwood Road.
b) Parking places outside Nos. 3 to 13 and Nos. 8 to 16 Brickwood Road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions prohibiting parking will apply in those bays at any time.
c) one-way working in Brickwood Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via: Addiscombe Road, Chisholm Road and Cedar Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

6. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 - Coombe Road & Heathfield Road, Croydon Temporary Restriction Of Vehicular Traffic
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cover repairs on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Coombe Road and Heathfield Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Coombe Road will be closed eastbound between its junctions with Edridge Road and Park Lane.
b) Vehicles will be banned from turning right from Heathfield Road into Coombe Road.

3. During the closure, the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
- For Coombe Road (Traffic needing St Peter's Junction) – via South End, A235 Southbridge Road and B275 St Peter’s Road.
- For Traffic needing St Peter’s Road Junction from South End – via High Street, The Croydon Flyover, and Park Lane.

4. The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 23 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction will not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate drainage works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic and parking in Fairdene Road and Dunstan Road, Coulsdon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Fairdene Road will be closed from the common boundary of Nos. 41 and 43 to the common boundary of Nos. 47b and 49 Fairdene Road.
b) Dunstan Road will be closed at its junction with Fairdene Road.
c) Parking within the closure area will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions prohibiting parking and loading will apply at any time.

3. During the closure the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be as detailed below.
- Via Westwood Road, Reddown Road and vice versa.
- Via Westwood Road, Downs Road, Marlpit Lane, Reddown Road and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 02 October 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended, The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Foxley Lane, Purley Temporary Prohibition Of Parking And Pedestrian Traffic
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to enable cable installation works for a new development they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit parking and pedestrian traffic in Foxley Lane, Purley.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:-
(a) Parking on both sides of the road outside Nos. 30 to 42 Foxley Lane will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions prohibiting parking at any time will apply.
(b) The north-eastern (even-numbered side) footway of Foxley Lane will be closed to pedestrians.

3. During the footway closure the alternative routes for pedestrians will be either via: the opposite footway or a walkway in the carriageway.

4. The Order will come into operation on the 22 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 05 October 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extents as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any person or vehicle involved in conducting the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 And All Other Enabling Powers Howden Road, South Norwood Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate remedial works by Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Howden Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) Howden Road will be closed at its junction with South Norwood Hill.
b) One-way working in Howden Road will be suspended to allow two-way traffic.

3. Whilst the closure is in place the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below.
- Via Howden Road, Auckland Road, Woodvale Avenue, and South Norwood Hill.
- Via Howden Road, Auckland Road, Cypress Road, and South Norwood Hill.

4. The Order will come into operation on 19 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 20 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section 14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Midhurst Avenue, Croydon Temporary Restriction Of Traffic & Parking
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate a district meter exchange on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Midhurst Avenue, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) The cycle lane in Midhurst Avenue at its junction with Sutherland Road will be closed between that junction and the common boundary of Nos. 62 and 64 Midhurst Avenue.
b) Parking bays will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time outside Nos. 45 to 53 Midhurst Avenue.

3. During the closure cyclists will be asked to dismount and be diverted via: the footway.

4. The Order will come into operation on 17 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 20 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, Section14 As Amended And The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 North End, Croydon Temporary Restriction Of Traffic
1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate the replacement of temporary footway surfacing with permanent paving slabs by Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in North End Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) The bus lane on the north-east side of North End will be closed from the common boundary of Nos. 168 and 170 North End to common boundary of West Croydon Station and No. 10 London Road.
b) The northeastern footway of North End will be closed outside No. 172 North End.

3. The Order will come into operation on 20 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out in one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

4. Whilst the closures are in force buses will be diverted into the main carriageway and pedestrians will be diverted via a walkway in the bus lane.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any person or vehicle involved in conducting the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

1. CROYDON COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate cable installation work on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit parking in Stoats Nest Road and Windermere Road, Coulsdon.

2. During the works parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions prohibiting parking at any time will apply in the sections of road detailed below.
a) Windermere Road – both sides of the road from the party wall of Nos. 92 and 94 Windermere Road to its junction with Stoats Nest Road.
b) Stoats Nest Road – both sides of the road from the railway bridge to its junction with Brighton Road.

3. The Order will come into operation on 19 September 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 22 September 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

CROYDON COUNCIL - Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 16a As Amended By The Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994 And All Other Enabling Powers Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order The Shree Sakthy Ganapathy Annual Chariot Festival Associated Restrictions
1. CROYDON COUNCIL, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate the staging of the above-mentioned procession on the 14 September they intend to make a Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily close to vehicular traffic, except for vehicles participating in the procession, those streets or lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice, and only whilst the procession is travelling along those streets.

2. Permitted parking places in streets or lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice will be suspended as and when required.

3. The provisions of the Order will not prevent access being maintained for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates, or to any other premises accessible from, and only from, such a road.

4. Nothing in the Order shall apply:
a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
b) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
c) to any vehicle involved with setting up or taking part in the event.

5. The Order will come into effect on 14 September 2026 and will remain in force for one day, however it is anticipated that the procession will take place approximately between 18.30 hours and 21.00 hours and the prohibition on traffic will only be enforced until normal traffic flow can be maintained.
