REGULATION ACT 1984

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL)

INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWS

(WINDMILL ROAD, MORTIMER COMMON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026

The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Windmill Road in Mortimer Common between its junction with Woodside Close and its junction with King Street.

The Alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Windmill Road, Hammonds Heath, The Street, Victoria Road and vice versa.

The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for HWM Contracting to carry out new sewer connection works.

The proposed Order will come into effect on 21st September 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 21st September and 2nd October 2026.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on https://one.network/
