What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A60 VARIOUS LOACTIONS, BASSETLAW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026 (BS26-263)]

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Carlton in Lindrick, Shireoaks and Worksop in the District of Bassetlaw.

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 of this Order

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading (Both sides) (20:00 to 06:00) in the following length of road specified in Schedule 1 of this Order.

3. No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour in the following length of road specified in Schedule 1 (Item 1)

1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 20:00 hours Monday 21st September 2026
Until 06:00 hours Monday 19th October 2026

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

Diversion for Shireoaks
All Vehicles below 2.9m (9’9”) in height-Shireoaks Road-A60 Sandy Lane–Shireoaks Road and vice versa.
All Vehicles 2.9m (9’9”) and above to be-escorted through the works area via Claylands Avenue.

Diversion for A57
Diversion for Vehicles below 4.6m or 15’0”
A57 Worksop Bypass-B6040 Gateford Road–A60 Babbage Way–A60 Sandy Lane and vice versa.
All Vehicles above 4.6m (15’0”) and above -B6041 Gateford Road-B6041 Raymoth Lane-A60 Carlton Road-B6045
Carlton Road-Bridge Place–B6040 Gateford Road–Sandy Lane-A60 Sandy Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Monday 21st September 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.

The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).The prohibition is required to enable VIA EM on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Carriageway Resurfacing and associated works.
