NOTICE 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City and County of Swansea in pursuance of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) intend to make an Order. In order for Swansea Council to undertake resurfacing works, it will be necessary to temporarily close the above-named roads to vehicular traffic.

SCHEDULE
SCHEDULE 1 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
A483 CARMARTHEN ROAD (EAST BOUND ONLY), SWANSEA
13th to 17th September - 4 nights - 20.00 to 06.00
A483 Carmarthen Road from its junction with Old Carmarthen Road in an easterly direction to its junction with Pentregethin Road at Cwmbwrla Roundabout a distance of approximately 350 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of A483 Carmarthen Road, Gendros Crescent, Upper Gendros Crescent and C8 Pentregethin Road a distance of approximately 2.3 kilometres.

This route will operate in one direction only. Drawing No 4686D

SCHEDULE 2 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
A483 CARMARTHEN ROAD (WEST BOUND ONLY), SWANSEA
17th to 22nd September - 6 nights - 20.00 to 06.00
A483 Carmarthen Road from its junction with Old Carmarthen Road in an easterly direction to its junction with Pentregethin Road at Cwmbwrla Roundabout a distance of approximately 350 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the unaffected section of A483 Carmarthen Road, Gendros Crescent, Upper Gendros Crescent and C8 Pentregethin Road a distance of approximately 2.3 kilometres.

CHRISTOPHER ROAD, YNYSFORGAN - 20th to 25th September - 6 nights - 18.00 to 0.00
Christopher Road from its junction B4603 Clydach Road in a southwesterly direction, to its junction with Butterslade Road, a distance of approximately 400 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via B4603 Clydach Road, A4067 Ynysforgan Roundabout, C165 Llanllienwen Road, C165 Heol Maes Eglwys, Rhodfa Fadog, Heol Glan Nant and Butterslade Road a distance of approximately 3.2 kilometres.

Similarly, this route will operate in the reverse direction. Drawing 4686H

MOND MINI R/A & YNYS PENLLWCH, CLYDACH- 25th to 29th September - 5 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

Part 1
Pontardawe Road from its Junction with Capel Road in a westerly direction to its junction with Vardre Road, a distance of approximately 750 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via, the unaffected section of Vardre Road, and Capel Road a distance of approximately 900 metres.

This route will operate in reverse direction and is suitable for light vehicles only. Drawing 4642G

Part 2
Ynys Penllwch Road from its junction with Vardre Road in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 250 metres

The alternative route will be via the unaffected section of Ynys Penllwch Road, A4067 Ffordd Cwmtawe, A4067 M4 Junction 45 Roundabout, B4603 Clydach Road, B4603 Hebron Road and B4603 High Street a distance of approximately 7.1 Kilometres

This route will operate in reverse direction and is suitable for light vehicles only. Drawing 4642F

SCHEDULE 5 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
LLEWELLYN PARK DRIVE MORRISTON - 28th to 30th September - 3 nights - 18.00 to 0.00

Llewellyn Park Drive from its junction with Trewyddfa Road in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 300 metres

There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic. Drawing 8686J

SCHEDULE 6 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
C11 MANSEL ROAD BONYMAEN - 29th September to 09th October - 11 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

C11 Mansel Road, from its junction with C11 Bonymaen Road in a northerly direction to its junction with Carmel Road, a distance of approximately 1.8 kilometres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via, C11 Bonymaen Road, B5444 Jersey Road and Carmel Road a distance of approximately 2.2 kilometres.

FOXHOLE ROAD / PENTREGUINEA ROAD ST THOMAS 8th to 16th October 10 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

A4067 Pentreguinea Road / Foxhole Road from its junction with Delhi Street / Tawe Bridge, in a northerly direction to its junction with B5444 Pentrechwyth Road a distance of approximately 1.4 kilometres.

The Alternative Route for vehicular traffic will be via A483 Quay Parade, A483 New Cut Road, B4603 Morfa Road, A4067 White Rock Roundabout, A4067 Pentrechwyth Road

B4290 PRINCESS STREET & CARE STREET SWANSEA - 18th to 22nd October - 5 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

Princess Street and Care Street from its junction with Rutland Street in a northerly Direction to its junction with Castle Bailey Street a distance of approximately 300 metres

The alternative route will be via the unaffected section of Princess Street, A4067 Oystermouth Road, West Way, Dillwyn Street, B4290 The Kingsway, Orchard Street, Alexandra Road, B4489 High Street and B4489 Castle Street a distance of approximately 2.7 kilometres Drawing No 4686E

SCHEDULE 9 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

C3 MYNYDD NEWYDD ROAD - 22nd to 27th October - 6 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

C3 Mynydd Newydd Road, from its junction with C8 Pentregethin Road, in a northerly direction to its junction with Broughton Avenue a distance of approximately 450 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via C8 Pentregethin Road, Stembridge Avenue and Broughton Avenue, a distance of approximately 1.1 kilometres. Drawing 4686C

SCHEDULE 10 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

B4295 VICTORIA ROAD, WAUNARLWYDD - 27th October to 2nd November - 7 nights - 18.00 to 0.00

B4295 Victoria Road from its Junction with B4295 Bryn Road in an easterly direction to its junction with Swansea Road, a distance of approximately 600 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via, B4295 Bryn Road and Swansea Road a distance of approximately 1.1 kilometres.

SCHEDULE 11 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

CHESTNUT AVENUE WEST CROSS - 30th October to 9th November - 11 nights - 20.00 to 06.00

Chestnut Avenue from its junction with Mulberry Avenue in an easterly direction to its junction with Betsland access road a distance of approximately 60 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Mulberry Avenue, Elmgrove Road, Moorside Road and West Cross Lane a distance of approximately 1.5 Kilometres.

SCHEDULE 12 - TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

HIGHER LANE, LANGLAND 9th to 17th November - 10 nights - 18.00 to 0.00

Higher Lane from its junction with B4593 Langland Road in a southeasterly direction to its junction with Cambridge Road, a distance of approximately 400 metres.

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via, B4593 Langland Road, B4593 Newton Road, B4433 Mumbles Road, Plunch Lane, New Villas, and the unaffected section of Higher Lane, a distance of approximately 5.3 kilometres.

Access for emergency vehicles to be maintained at all times.

The maximum duration of the order is 18 months, and it is anticipated the work will take 6 months to complete effective from Sunday 13th September 2026.
