Islip - Temporary Road Closures due to Traffic Signal & Highway Improvement Works

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Islip, Various Roads

Prohibition of Vehicles

Date of Order: 29/6/2026

This Order was introduced because of traffic signal installation works and associated carriageway and footway improvements which were planned to be undertaken 6 July to 7 September but now anticipated to take place from 28 September to 20 November. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the following parts of roads:

i. King’s Head Lane, between the junctions of Mill Street and Middle Street

ii. Lower Street, from the junction of Wheatley Road to outside Mendota House

iii. Mill Street, between the junctions of The Walk and Wheatley Road

iv. The Walk, between the junctions of Mill Street and High Street

v. The B4027 Wheatley Road from the junction of Mill Street to outside Hillside Cottage

The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Islip) (One-Way Traffic) Order 2025 (as amended) will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T17086/RMF)
